Arctic Monkeys: The Bad Thing
Just when I get my hopes up that Artcic Monkeys upcoming Favourite Worst Nightmare might not be a total rehash of their debut, I make the mistake of putting on ‘The Bad Thing’. It’s not a bad song by any means, but it feels to much like it could have come from Whatever People Say . . . Come on guys, you’re called the Arctic Monkeys! You’re expected go outside your comfort zone!

whats the point of this post? saying that it sounds like a song from the last album? big deal.. you cant expect every song to have a completely new sound to it

Hey I love “The Bad Thing”. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that these guys are about social commentary – the good, the bad & the ugly. So what if the sound isn’t totally unique, the lyrics are up to the standard of ingenuity we’ve come to expect. It’s hard enough to find an album these days that keeps you glued past the official release tracks but I’m suitably impressed. And the Sydney gig rocked last night!
