Alex Delivery: Sheath-Wet

March 23, 2007 at 11:52 am (Alex Delivery, mp3s, Star Destroyer)

What do you get when you mix indie-pop, industrial, and noise-rock elements? Alex Delivery, apparently. These Brooklyn rockers will release their first album, Star Destroyer, on April 24th (almost a birthday present for me). Be warned; Star Destroyer is a full on assault on the ears. The opening track, ‘Komad’, opens with buzz saw guitars at full blast. But if you listen closely, beneath the noise is a carefully built indie-pop structure. After you get used to their highly abrasive sound, you begin to appreciate how well Alex Delivery blends such disparate elements into cohesive tracks. As if this wasn’t enough, they’ll be doing a May tour with everyones favorite caterwauling amphibians, Frog Eyes. Star Destroyer is out April 24th on Jagjaguwar.
