When you first heard the title of Spoon’s upcoming Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, you knew it was going to be a little odd, and maybe a little difficult. The first track to emerge, entitled ‘The Ghost Of You Lingers’, would definitely fit that description. It’s a bit of a minimalist outing for Spoon, featuring only a relentless piano, Britt Daniel’s vocals (echo! echo! echo!), and occasional bursts of static. To say the least, my level of stoked-ness for Ga . . . just went up. By a lot.
