Remix Monday 5/28 | Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya, Lil Mama, & The Rosebuds

Lil Mama

Some remixes to get your day started. Lately I haven’t been actively seeking out remixes, instead letting them find me. It’s worked out well, even if that means fewer remixes. Also, I’ve got a request; I’m looking for:  R. Kelly – I’m A Flirt (DJ Obsession soca ragga remix) [ft. Lady Saw & T-Pain. If you happen to know where I can find that, let me know. Enjoy the mixes!

Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya

May 26, 2007 at 5:27 pm (Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya, mp3s)

Probably Not Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya

They might have just barely popped up, but UK-based Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya have already managed to make quite an impression upon bloggers, being featured by Palms Out, Big Stereo, and Gorilla vs. Bear, among others. And that’s just in the past week or so. Despite all that coverage, we still know next to nothing about BBYYY; are they a cover for a bigger band, a group of undiscovered geniuses, or just one way talented musical freak? No one knows for now, but it’s hard to complain when the music is this damn good. Below you’ll find two tracks from BBYYY. The first, ‘Fuck Friend’, is a CSS-style jam, heavy on the percussion. But the reason I’m really excited about BBYYY is the second track, ‘Tu Connais le Chanson’. I’m pretty sure it defies description, but I’ll do my best; imagine a Beck track on acid, mixed with a schoolyard-chant beat and sugary-sweet vocals, and you’ve got an inkling of what ‘Tu Connais’ sounds like. The only way to really get it is to hear it, which I highly recommend you do. Also, be sure to check back on Monday for more BBYYY.
