I’m sorry, but it’s that time of year, and I just don’t feel like writing; so here’s the story of Shitt Hottt, an awesome band that found it’s way onto my iPod recently. From their myspace page:
Once upon a time, there were three princesses – Michelle, Andrea and Ryan. They’d been talking about forming a band together. Andrea would play the drums, Michelle would play the guitar, and Ryan would play the bass.
One night, after an enchanted Kickball tournament, a fourth princess appeared – Sarah. She announced that she would play the tambourine for the trio. Being drunk, they agreed. On the condition that she also sing and play keyboards. Which she did. With gusto.
They played some shows – opening for The Pointed Sticks (from Van City), The Ettes (from LA), Pony Up! (from Montreal) and The Zoobombs (from Japan), made friends with EVERYONE, drank lots of free booze, and Ryan fell off the stage
oncea couple times. It was pretty great.

Brooklyn’s Lil Mama may only be 17, but she could sure as hell give most of her older peers a run for their money. The only track we’ve heard from her so far, the minimalistic ‘Lip Gloss’, features only handclaps and drums as a backbeat, relying almost entirely on Lil Mama’s rapping to carry the beat. Not many rappers could pull something like that off, but Lil Mama does it without breaking a sweat. ‘Lip Gloss’ won’t win any awards for lyrical depth, but that’s just about the worst thing you can say about. Keep your eye on this girl. She’s going places.
Some remixes to get your day started. Lately I haven’t been actively seeking out remixes, instead letting them find me. It’s worked out well, even if that means fewer remixes. Also, I’ve got a request; I’m looking for: R. Kelly – I’m A Flirt (DJ Obsession soca ragga remix) [ft. Lady Saw & T-Pain. If you happen to know where I can find that, let me know. Enjoy the mixes!
Happy Monday! We all hate them, so here are a few remixes to make things a little better. As usual, all the remixes here are good, but if you’re looking for something extra, I’d go with any of the YACHT remixes. They’ve got that bouncy optimism that you probably need today.
