Remix Roundup 4/2: Bright Eyes, Bloc Party, & Timbaland

April 2, 2007 at 5:58 am (Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Hot Chip, Justin Timberlake, mp3s, Nelly Furtado, remixes, Timbaland)

It’s Monday again, and you know what that means: more remixes! They’re all pretty decent, but my personal favorite of the bunch is the Appogee remix of Bright Eye’s Lover I Don’t Have To Love. It keeps the best parts of the original, while adding an extra dose of electro. Enjoy!

MIA & Timbaland: Come Around

March 28, 2007 at 1:30 pm (M.I.A., mp3s, Shock Value, Timbaland)

More than a few people were disappointed with the lack of MIA when Timbaland’s Shock Value made it’s way onto the intraweb tubes last week, myself included. Well, we can finally rest in peace; thanks to Discobelle, the MIA track has finally surfaced. After a few listens, I can safely say that it tops everything else on the album. Including as an import only track is a truly befuddling decision by whoever made it; The track is brilliant. God knows Shock Value could use a few more tracks like that.

Timbaland: Bounce

March 23, 2007 at 7:14 am (Dr. Dre, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliot, mp3s, Shock Value, Timbaland)

‘Bounce’ is only the fifth song on Shock Value, but I just haven’t been able to get past it; it’s been on repeat for about two hours now, and I’m still not sick of it. Needless to say, the beats are insane, but the guest stars are what really make this track; Missy Elliot, JT, and Dr. Dre all make an appearance. Each guest’s part makes perfect sense, but Missy Elliot’s is my personal favorite. Her voice perfectly complements this track. It doesn’t hurt that the lyrics are pretty damn funny too. ‘Bounce’ is a low-down, sleazy, downright nasty track, and I love it.
